To comply with social distancing, we are limiting class to 5 students in the afternoon and 6 students in the evening. There will be a 2:00 pm and a 6:00 pm session. You MUST register for one of the available classes. If these 2 times fill, an additional Club will be opened for the following Thursday for the same times.
June: T-Shirt with multiple hoopings and applique
Life IS better in flip flops! Right! So we are going to stitch this saying on a tee shirt. What are we going to learn new with this project? This design is too big for your hoop so we will first learn how to align the design for two hoopings. And. . .machine embroidery applique is the technique to create the flip flops.
Here's what you need to bring to class. Remember to pre-register as seating is limited to allow social distancing.
your embroidery machine with appropriate feet, bobbin case, and cords.
6" x 8" hoop (Bernina oval or midi hoop)
70/10 or 75/11 embroidery needles
OESD PolyMesh stabilizer (fusible is great, but not required)
505 if stabilizer is not fusible
StitcH2O water soluble topping stabilizer
5" square of fun cotton print for flip flops
small bladed scissors for trimming fabric in applique
and trimming stabilizer around the back of finished design.
Isacord thread: one color for lettering
two colors for soles of flip flops
two shades of same color for straps on flip flops (one darker than the other)
Frixion marking pen or white Choco-liner
12" ruler for marking placement lines
tee-shirt (suggest prewash)
